It all starts with our Sri Lankan dairy farmers.
From 200 farms in 1996, today our network has grown to thousands of farmer families.
Each day, we collect over 30,000 litres of milk from our farmers through a network of milk chilling and collection centres across the country.
From there, the milk is transported to our state-of-the-art Fonterra manufacturing plant, where it is processed using the same internationally certified quality standards that we use in New Zealand.
The Anchor liquid milk is then packed into convenient 1 litre Tetra packs and delivered to stores around the country – providing high quality dairy nutrition in a convenient format, available everywhere.
The introduction of Anchor liquid milk to Sri Lanka means we need to collect more high quality milk from more farmers, and to do this we need a stronger local dairy industry.
We believe that a strong dairy industry begins with our farming families, and we work with them to increase milk quality and production, helping to grow their incomes.
We’re scaling up our dairy development programmes, and growing our team of Supply Relations Officers. We’re investing in milk chilling centres and demonstration farms in our dairy communities that also act as knowledge sharing hubs.
Through these initiatives, we share dairy management techniques and processes to improve Sri Lankan dairy farming and help grow the industry.
